另一个例子是周熹同学。周熹同学进校时的成绩很一般，以至于高一分四个实验班他还被排除在外。这个同学是不是因此而沉沦、垂头丧气呢?不，他显然不是那种自甘寂寞的人。高二的时候，学校压缩了培优班，只按高一四次平均成绩取前100名的同学办两个培优班，周熹同学竟然名列其中!这还不要紧，到高三的时候，学校再按几次平均成绩选取32人组成火箭班，周熹同学再次名列其中!最终，周熹同学考起了名校--中国科技大学。
